Baltic, Michigan

Baltic, also known as the Baltic Mine Location, was built on the Atlantic Mine Railroad, later taken over by the Copper Range Railroad.  Its initial copper mining work began in 1882 by a party under the direction of Captain John Ryan.  Monette examines the company town from the doctor's office and hospital, to the company store, boarding houses, and schools.  He also takes time to talk about the Stella Cheese factory, the Finnish Temperance Society and the history of the Mining Company from 1882 to 1931.
